Homemade play-dough recipe
1 cup Flour
1 cup Water
¼ cup Salt
1 TBSP Vegetable
Oil
2 tsp Cream of
Tarter (you can find it in any grocery store at the spices section)
2 packages of
Kool-aid of the same color (make a new batch for a different color) *
1 big Sauce Pan
1 Wooden Spoon
Add all the
ingredients together in the pan (no specific order) and stir very well, until
it’s almost clump free.
Bring the pan to
the stove on medium heat. Keep stirring. After a few minutes it will start to
clump up and it will be hard to stir. It will form a big mass, which can be
easily removed from the pan. Remove from heat.
Knead the
play-dough by hand. It will be hot, but nice and squishy. Once it has
cooled down, it’s ready for your kiddo to play with and be creative!!
Now, start over
to make a new batch with a different color! It takes only 5 min to make each
batch.
Store it in
airtight containers (baby food jars, Tupperware, Ziploc bags). It can last up
to 6 months. It doesn’t taste good, but it’s edible.
P.S.: My source for this recipe was this really cool blog.
* Instead of Kool-aid, you can also use food coloring.
Have fun!!!
